Color Blindness (Color Deficiency)

Effects of Color Deficiency

Through my interview with both of the Dr. Raghavans, I found out some surprising things about people with color blindness.
Some of them include:

  • People with color blindness can still drive. They distinguish the colors of the traffic light by memorizing the position (red on top, green on bottom. However, when claiming their driver's license, they must declare that they are color blind.

  • Additionally, when looking down a microscope,(especially for scientists), it is hard to differentiate between colors of tissue.

  • Sometimes, color blindness can be a side effect of a more serious optical problem

  • Anomalous Trichromats in specific can see camouflage better than people with regular vision
